S: How many MBA Programs are there at BİLGİ?

C:

There are five MBA programs at Bilgi. bilgiMBA is our main program and the classes are held during week nights at  santralistanbul Campus. Turkish MBA takes place during the weekends. e-MBA (distance) is available in English and Turkish and can be followed online. 

S: How long do the programs last?

C:

All the MBA programs can be completed maximum 3 semesters.

S: What are the differences between the programs?

C:

Tuition and language differences exist between the programs. Please refer to http://graduate.bilgi.edu.tr/en/  for the up-to-date tuition fees.

S: Who mostly prefers to focus on MBA degree?

C:

We evaluate our applicants based on the information they provide on their application forms as well as the experiences and personal knowledge they share with us during the interviews. MBA programs host students from broad backgrounds. From the newly graduates to those with years of work experience prefer benefit from MBA programs.

S: What are the purposes of the applicants when they apply for MBA at Bilgi?

C:

We try to meet different needs. Some believe that they have made the wrong choice (undergraduate degree, job choice, functions) while some are unsatisfied (job descriptions, salary, loss of self-improvement). But, the purpose uniting every applicant is the need for improvement. The world of business, consumer, competition, technology are changing fast and keeping up with the changing times put aside, improvement becomes necessary for survival.

S: From which sector do the applicants mostly hail?

C:

Almost someone from every sector is present in the MBA Programs. In our earlier years, we sought to attract finance and engineering graduates as these were the favorite qualifications in the job market. But today, almost every sector can promise a bright future. Nevertheless, electronic communications, pharmacy, retail, and energy sector are the bulk of the MBA community.

S: What is the nuımber of applicants each year?

C:

The number of applicants can be said to hit a thousand per year.

S: Should an applicant prefer MBA right after having completed his/her undergraduate degree or after having some experience in the work field?

C:

We can testify that education over work experience can be more beneficial as we try to design our programs to be as flexible as possible. The biggest contributions to our programs are provided by those who have knowledge of the business world. In our programs, 85% of the students either were or are currently employed. Those applicants who have just earned their undergraduate degrees and think about preparing themselves for their future careers also should not shy away from applying to MBA at Bilgi.

S: What are the benefits of MBA?

C:

Plenty. You will quickly be adapted to the terminology used in the business world. You will have the opportunity to understand, evaluate, and decide on the basic needs and their implications. You will view the world with different lenses and comprehend what people do and why they do it. You will develop strategies and understand innovation, and the need for change. You will have the privilege to meet with new people (different backgrounds, sectors, institutions, professors and lecturers with diverse knowledge of their respective fields). You will be part of a vast network. Most important of all, these opportunities will best be realized if the student is self-motivated and devoted.

S: Are people who have MBA degrees preferred over the others in the business world?

C:

Yes. Valuable MBA education is a sought qualification on the CVs. Also, someone who has just started MBA education can easily be noticed by his/her changing performance. This is important both from the employee’s and the employer’s standpoint.

S: Do the students choose to do MBA along with work or do they leave their occupations to focus solely on MBA?

C:

Most of our students are employed. This is why the MBA programs are designed to be flexible to fit in the schedules of our students. Since the courses in the bilgiMBA program are held on week nights, the students can catch the courses after their work hours. Turkish courses are available in the weekends and e-MBA courses can be followed in the desired place and time.

S: Do you usually receive individual applications more than institutional applicants?

C:

Most of our applicants would like to do MBA on individual basis. Those who apply via contracted institutions can benefit from certain discounts.
